A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with the murder of an Old Bridge woman who was found shot to death in her own home.

She was Deborah Brown-Hepworth, popularly known as ‘Sonni’ among her friends. found unresponsive by a relative on Sept. 17 at her Hanna Lane residence in the Laurence Harbor area, police said.

According to prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, the 65-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators determined that Brown-Hepworth knew her attacker and named 61-year-old Elizabeth Jackson as a suspect, prosecutors said Friday.

On Thursday, Jackson was arrested at her home in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, police said. The community is a western suburb of Philadelphia.

In addition to first-degree murder, she is also charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Police have not released further details about how Brown-Hepworth and Jackson knew each other.

Brown-Hepworth she was preceded in death by her husband Harry W. Hepworth Sr. in June.
